DO'S & DON'TS OF WELL PERMITTING
- A well that is drilled before the issuance of a permit will be deemed an illegal well, therefore it will be subject to fines
- All required forms must be filed before drilling begins. Owners should get these forms to the District office before setting a drill date.
- An additional $250 will be required if the driller or owner insist on drilling a well within the same day as the issuance of the permit unless a field technician is available and all needed forms are on file.
- Owner/agent must call and request permits. They must also call to cancel a permit. It is not the District's job to contact the owner/agent about the issuance of a permit, nor will the District call and remind them that a permit is about to expire.
